Sommer is back at GCT after performing in The Addams Family musical this fall. Sommer is a well rounded actor who has skills in many different aspects of the art, but she brings her comedy skills out to the front with the roles she takes on. Perhaps the most challenging, she’s taking on two different roles at the same time, bringing this production to a whole new level. You’re in for a treat to see her as Dr. Westfeldt and Renfield.

This show is very physical- and maintaining character while moving in unusual ways

Why did you want to be involved in this production?

As soon as I saw the post for auditioning I felt I HAD to be in this show.

People who take themselves to serious and boring dry minded people

This production is mixing in more pop culture into this victorian world

What is your favorite line in the show?

“-Ahhhhhhh I thought I heard a scream”

Who in the show is most like their character?

I think Linsey June most likes her character. They are both sweet.

Who is the least?

I think Justin is the least like his character in a good way!

How is this character like you? How is this character different from you?

I have a weird/ crazy quirk or two like Renfield and I at times think I know better than others. But I don’t eat bugs, and women can do things that are not just being a wife and mother.

Is it easier to play this character or to be yourself on stage?

It is easier to play both roles as characters and not myself but I do get mixed into the characters I think.

What do you love about your character?

I love Renfield, he is not afraid to say weird things in his head.

What do you hate about your character?

I hate that Dr. W is loud and wrong

The level of physical activity with the parts

I would like to see Winston Duke
