Tell us a little about you!
My name is Devon Shelton, I am 25 years old. I live in the town of Ashland. I work as the Operation Supervisor of Shows and Events at Kings Dominion in the Entertainment Department. I am also a licensed practical nurse. I enjoy going to church and going to the beach/pool.
Why did you want to be involved in this production?
I wanted to be involved in this production because I haven’t performed in a long time, and I have missed being on the stage. It has been about 7 years since I have been in a show. I also really love the Addams Family. This has been a show I have always wanted to be part of.
What do you love about your character?
What I love about Fester would have to be that he just wants everyone to find true love. I love that he is not afraid to express himself. He is such a beloved character by everyone who loves the Addams Family.
What is your favorite song to perform for this show, and why?
My favorite song to perform would have to be “When you’re an Addams”. This song is the opening number, it sets the tone of the show. I also really love being able to sing this song with the full cast. I remember when we all came together for the first time to sing this song and it was just magical.
What is your favorite line?
I know what you’re probably thinking, what could a fat bald person with no known sexuality know about love; but I to love, Fester loves.
Who should come see this show?
Family’s, anyone who loves to laugh, and anyone who loves spooky season. This show is not only a comedy but has a great message.
How would you describe this show in one word?
Uplifting
This is GCT’s first musical production. What was the first musical that you ever performed in and what was your role?
The first musical I performed in was “Pippin”. I was part of the ensemble for this show.
Aside from this one, what is your favorite role you’ve ever played?
Ursula from the Little Mermaid
When did you first perform?
My first time performing was in 2011 in my Middle School play
Besides this one, what is your favorite stage show?
Hairspray! My dream role to play is Edna Turnblad
What is the last thing you do before you step out on stage?
The last thing I do before stepping out on stage is take a sip of water and say a prayer.
What is your favorite Halloween costume ever?
My favorite Halloween costume would have to be when I dressed up as a Pinocchio.
What is your favorite Halloween candy?
I love candy corn and candy pumpkins. The fall mix bag is the best.
