Linda is new to us here at GCT and we are so excited to have her on board! Her quick witted humor brings the characters that she portrays to stage to life. She’s sure to give you a laughing fit when you come see DRACULA: Comedy of Terrors.
What sort of person is going to love this show?
Anyone with a pulse and a good sense of humor.
What’s challenging about bringing this script to life?
Finding the intersection of comedy in otherwise terrifying experiences.
Why did you want to be involved in this production?
Bram Stoker’s Dracula was one of the first novels I read through my own volition. I was deeply fascinated by Dracula’s entrancing appeal and his magnetic relationship with Lucy. I joined the production because I loved the idea of turning the story upside down and hammering it with a funny, modern twist.
Who should not come see this show?
People who are uptight about sexuality should probably stay home.
How is this production bringing something new to this story?
It’s unique in its comedic interpretation of a classic horror story and its brazen liberty in stretching the characters and plot to the limits of absurdity.
What’s going to surprise people about this show?
They will see Dracula in a way they’ve never seen him before.
Call someone out by name: who must come see this production?
My mom of course. She has always been my greatest supporter.
What is your favorite line in the show?
“I wish I had something else in me” – Mina
Who in the show is most like their character?
Harker is played by Charlie. Both of them are mild mannered, kind and sweet.
Who is the least?
Probably myself as the elderly, kleptomaniac mental patient, Kitty.
What sort of person is going to love this character?
I think anyone would love Kitty. She loves serving others and is only trying to make a living wage. Yes, she has an uncontrollable compulsion to steal things, but other than that she’s positively adorable!
Is it easier to play this character or to be yourself on stage?
It’s easy to get lost in Kitty’s contorted body and allow her ridiculous facial expressions to surface. I am also fond of the sound of her voice and her unapologetic demeanor.
What do you love about your character?
I love her carefree attitude. She’s floating through life and doesn’t care what anyone thinks about it.
What do you hate about your character?
It sucks to not be in control of impulses, but I recognize this is also an endearing trait of Kitty’s.
What’s the biggest challenge about taking on this role?
It will probably be saying goodbye to Kitty.
Besides yourself, what celebrity would you like to see tackle this character?
I imagine Joan Cusack would be a riot!
Without giving anything away, what’s your favorite line of dialogue?
It’s not so much what she says, but more so how she handles a big pair of coconuts.
Besides yourself, which actor in this production is going to blow people away?
Lucy’s sister Mina delivers a hysterical performance as the sister who “got all the recessive genes”.
If you could play any other character in this show, who would it be?
I’d love to play Dracula!! A sexy female Dracula would be epic.
What will the audience be thinking about in the car as they drive home after this show?
They’ll likely be recalling their favorite funny lines to each other all the way home.
Why should audiences be excited for this show?
Audiences will thoroughly enjoy this fresh, light and funny take on the timeless horror classic, Dracula.
