What’s challenging about bringing this script to life?
I would have to say the thing that is most challenging about this show is all the various personalities. We are trying to show real people and people who had to go through this very real tragedy. I want to make sure that I put out who they were and not who we think they were in a way.
Why did you want to be involved in this production?
I wanted to be involved in this production because I thought that it would be interesting to be in. I wanted to be able to go through and see the way to go through the show and learn who these people were and how they acted and lived.
Who should not come see this show?
The show itself is heavy in its content and it might not be best for everyone. I would recommend everyone before they come and see it to make sure that they look at what is covered in the show so that they don’t get hurt in the moment.
As you play many characters, can you tell us which one is most like you and which one is least like you? And why?
I would have to say that the character that I can see myself in the most is probably Tiffany Edwards. She is a reporter and she sees the problems with the reporting of the events surrounding Mathew’s death and says something about it. I hope that I’m able to convey that in my personal life. The person I don’t see my self in is probably Aaron Kreifels. I have incredible respect to this person and I am so grateful to being able to play him. However, I don’t think I would have reacted in the end the way he does. I only have the small details that we are given in the script however I’m not sure how I would have reacted to the entire thing. He seems very level headed towards the end to me and I don’t think I would be able to do the same.
If you could play any other character in this show, who would it be?
I think I would want to play is probably Matt Galloway. I just think he would be a fun character to play. His dialogues is just so different to the rest of the show sometimes that it can sometimes pull you out of some of the harder moments.
What will the audience be thinking about in the car as they drive home after this show?
I think the audience will be reflecting on what they saw. They will be thinking about what they would have done in the moment as well as how they would have acted while all the media happened throughout their lives.
How is this production bringing something, if anything, new to this story?
I think that we are adding the relevance that we need to see in the world right now. While we keep it rooted in the history that needed to be seen in this time and day.
Why should audiences be excited for this show?
I think audiences will be excited to see the show mostly because it will let you think about what happens. It is complex and it will be something that makes them think about what they are seeing.
